Wii NTSC-U Motherboard to PAL & Wiikey

Hello. My Wii recently died and the repair shop told me to either get a new motherboard for it or just buy a new one. So I bought a new PAL motherboard since I can't find an NTSC-U one. I have a Wiikey (1.9g I think) on my Wii. Do I need to download the PAL config disk so it can work on my soon to be PAL Wii?

Post any other thing that I want to know about when changing my Wii from NTSC-U to PAl. Thanks :)

I don't know if you can do this.

Isn't the firmware for the wii cd drive assigned to the board.

I've heard that the DVD drive region dosent matter, any drive will work on any wii. I dont know about the motherboards though. I've never heard of replacing them.

I see. Well, there's a first time foreverything I guess. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Thing I need to know is how to change my wiikey to work for the pal motherboard. Do I need to change the wiikey firmware? I see all these config disks labeled ntsc/u, pal. So if my wiikey worked for the old ntsc, that means I need to change it to work for the pal motherboard right?

Or can I just use the latset 1.9s pal update to patch it up?
