and I was wondering if there was anything else I should know. This forum has been very helpful.

I have slim with ofw 3.71. I bought the datel tool to switch my battery to pandora and back. Seemed the most cost effective since finding a cheap pandorable wasn't easy. It seems to work on my battery based on the pandora test of putting the battery in wo a memory stick and green light coming on.

I was planning on using universal unbricker v3 guide in the forum to go to 3.71 and then probably 3.90 m33-2 but was wondering how to decide which cfw to use. I was assuming using the most recent since I may buy some games off playstation store eventually. but didn't know if there were advantages disadvantages to one cfw version over the others. Mainly I wanted to try some emulators on the psp and maybe bookr to look at pdfs for work meetings (I know nerd). But hey if I can use it for games and work, why not.

I also couldn't exactly decipher the difference between the unviversal unbricker v3 and the UPMS. It seemed that the UPMS had options that I couldn't use with a slim anyways. The menus seemed to say only for Fats. So that had me confused. Is it all just a different way to get the SW modded on the psp.

All the custom friwmares seem to build on the previous one. so in my opinion 3.90 M33 is the most updated at this point. its not like there are things you can do on 3.80 that you cant do on the 3.90; sometimes people just like an earlier version cause it runs better for them. Try 3.90. if it works fine keep it. If not downgrade to a different one until you find one you like.

upms= ultimate pandora memory stick it is the best will allow you to install any cfw and some ofw anytime you wantwith an easy to use interface
