Hey guys, I have this one spare wireless controller, and I was thinking of modding it up a little bit :D

I'm talking about lighting the ABXY buttons, lighting the guide button, and changing the SMDs on the pcb.

I got everything I need from the computer engineering shop at my school, so I don't need to buy one of those kits and all.

But I was just wondering one thing. All of the tutorials for lighting the buttons are for the damn wired controllers, and the pcb of the wired controllers is quite different from that of a wireless one.

Basically, what I'm asking is where are there "hot spots" where I can tap into the controllers power. I know the motors are one of them, but what if I want to keep them lighted?

(I'll edit my post soon with a picture of the pcb if it can help to point it out)

You're going to be charging them batteries alot, though.

yeah, there's my problem. The only tutorials there that focus on my problem are from llamma, and honestly, llamma sucks. They say things like "connect the led to the controller wire"

which wire? They just have useless pictures of an empty case and other crap.

I do rapid fire mods, and these are the solder points I use on a wireless controller.

Also, here's a thread with some good pics on the first few pages. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=466559

Thank you so much bhetrick. I'm sure that this will solve my problem.

So, all I have to do to tap into the controller power is to attach the LEDs to the trigger's potentiometer?
