Wii plays bootdisk no games

So, My friend ripped games using the sdcard method and all of the games worked on his..problem is they don't work on mine. I just recently put in the wii config disk 1.2 in and enabled all region play...still no luck. Yes, all of the disks are burned using the same media. The wii still plays originals. I CANNOT load up the update 1.9b. Am I doing something wrong?
