Ok so 4.5months ago I bought a new/sealed white Star Wars psp and ive been really careful with it since, I've been really careful not to scratch it, drop it, and I always kept it clean.. but for some stupid a$$ reason I took the PSP with me + headphones into the shower, i put it in one of those baby wipes containers.. but apparently some water got through it and i turned it on a few times outta desperation but the lights were barely flashing on and my psp would turn off by itself (Mistake number 2: Turning on psp after water leaked into it) sigh.. yea so after this chain of stupid mistakes i got outta the shower like 20 mins later and went online .. i followed a common answer in various forums to turn my psp upside-down, open the UMD drive, remove the battery, and leave it in a hot place to dry for a few days.. anyways around 48hours have past and now i inserted my battery, memory stick, bla bla.. and so i turn it on.. looked like it worked fine, but then i noticed that the home row button bar wasnt working (row of buttons including Home, Volume -/+, Brightness, Audio, Select, and Start) .. everytime i Press the HOME button once , my LCD turns off and i have to turn off and back on again my psp for the LCD to come back.. all the buttons on the row do not work except Select.. Also when i turn on my psp the sound is always on Mute, and when i press the HOME button, the volume gets off mute (but is still on no volume) and of course my LCD turns off.. and obviously i cant turn up the volume cuz the buttons dont work in the row... but im guessing that my psp's speakers arnt working anyways... I think i still have a warrenty with Sony but what could I tell them happened to my psp.. i mean, they said physical/water dmg are not covered by the Warrenty sooo.... any ideas? other option would be to replace the defective parts in my psp myself.. but that would cost over 125 dollars and I probably wouldnt even be able to replace them myself cuz i suck at those kinda things.. Any ideas?

right the best thing to do i think is to brick it update the fw and remove the battery and the power cable while its doing it. then turn the psp on this should now make the green power led flash and turn off. then send it away as a brick.

Edit the thread Data1880 to something more descriptive then 'Need help, plz assist ASAP' or your thread will be closed - rules.
And please try and use paragraphs and spacing instead of running sentences. Makes it so much easier to read.

nope because you get a refubished console and not yours
what happens is that it goes to a sony playstation repair centre and they find the problems and fix them.
