no it's not new. Check out acidmods. It works great for first person shooters where the arrow buttons move you man and the right buttons move your view(aim). I've had dual nubs on my phat for a while and am working on putting in my slim. Just don't like the idea of having to move the power plug to fit it.

rickem, Thats cool, I assume you did the work yourself, I've done some modding on my Xbox 360 adding fans and putting on plexiglass windows and soldering on the Power leds (Changed em' from green/red to blue, looks cool by the way!) Do you think this mod would be hard for me to do, I just dont know what it takes I'm guessing theres soldering involved.....yes, yes? and how is the game play on the 1st person shooters, does it work well? Thanks again for the reply!

Great for coded arms. I wish they'd just build them with dual analog cause more and more games are becoming using the right buttons for viewing. If you have a phat it's a pretty easy easy mod. Over at acidmods there's a great tut for this mod. You can also buy the board to do this or make your own. It's just a matter of using a tip of a leather pin to make a hole through each contact on the board, put your wire through, add a dab of solder to the end of the wire, pull it back against the board and reheat. then it's just a matter of soldering the the board with coinciding buttons. It's actually very precise in game.

Thanks rickem, Sounds like I know what I'm doing for my next project, I've been to acidmods, I'll check out their tut for this mod, it doesnt sound too hard, but it definitley sounds like the reward is worth while! And what is it like $30.00 to do it?

It is very easy. Just sounds hard. I've done my compact flash to pro duo adapter, it reads the 1gb CF card ihave without a problem but I'm saving to get a 32gb or 64gb CF card and hoping it'll read at least the 32gb. I've internally soldered it and the ground is on a switch so I can still use the pro duo slot in case I need to pandora and such. I'm really hoping the 169 bucks for a 32gb is gonna be worth it.

Hey rickem, also what gauge wire did you use for this mod? I went to Radio Shack and the smallest gauge they had was 30 gauge and then their next size was 24 gauge, my guess would have to be the 30 gauge, only I don't know, I would think you'd want it as small as possible, also did you have to relocate the power plugin (5v DC in) or was there enough room? (I assume were are talking about the PSP-1001 (Phat) thanks for your previous post, according to the reviews on that site people didnt like the black nub replacements, they liked the white nub replacements....any ideas why?

30gauge kynar. You don't have to relocate the power plug on a phat. As for color, the white stands out better so people notice it. To me black is fine, don't care for bragging rights, just functionality.

hey rickem, thats what I thought, the 30 gauge, I forgot to ask, do you know if it was stranded or solid wire? gauge that small must be solid, yes, yes?

kynar is solid. i've tried working with the 24 and 30 gauge stranded, pain in the arse. a couple of times bending it to route the wires and the strands break.

hey ben1985, yeah I know it sounds complicated, but I think this is actually gonna be somewhat simple to do, alittle case mod, a little soldering, and getting my hands on the Razor X board and an extra nub
goto: www.acidmods.com and http://www.coolmods.co.uk/catalog/produc...products_id=190 Good luck man!

Omg, Radioshack have 30awg wires, ive been getting them online, because they dont have them in the store where i live.
Anyway ive never done the dual nub before, i always wonder how the heck do u cut a circle in the faceplate? The second nub directs to the d-pad?
