Hello, I am having trouble flashing my drive... but trust me posting here for help is my last resort, no offense, but I just feel like a tool asking for help. I have the right Sata card with a Via chipset, an elite with a benq, and xeno top gear installed. I have upgraded the Sata card and now downgraded to V550B. I read somewhere this would help. I am following the 2008 360 for dummies guide, and I have come up against alot of challenges thus far, and I have always worked through them but now Im stumped. With Iprep v.006 and a compatible usb drive (3 drives would not boot into DOS) Ive gotten as far as booting into DOS, entering the serial and starting to read the drive but it always freezes at "Reading bank 0..." so after spending all day on this one problem and trying numerous variations, I humbly ask for someone to help me or I will keep at this until I go insane.
I ripped out the xeno top gear and and retried and what do you know it F'n worked. I would have sold it if I didnt already stomp it to pieces. That thing was nothing but a pain in the ass. The manual sucked, their website sucked, nobody knows what the heck is going on with this thing so Ill be the first one to say it, with experience. Xeno Top Gear SUCKS!!!!
dont use the xeno or blasters fro doing this. yes its a pain to open the system everytime but adding another device for your computer to communicate with is nothing but trouble. i bought a blaster when they first came out ,spent almost 100 dollars on it after shipping costs, and never used it. i put it in, i couldnt get it to work, to it out, and it worked just fine. If you ask me it was jsut a way for one of these modding sites to make some quick money. jsut open the case, leave the screws out, and get an opening kit. takes about a minute to get it open after the first time.
I seriously feel like the company who made this is laughing at people that buy this crap. I have found no instances of people successfully flashing with this product. Although I mostly bought it for transferring data to my 120g HD, like dloaded arcade games, save files, backrounds, gamer pics, etc. there is no documentation on how to do this either. They are not standing behind their product whatsoever, and have made no efforts to update the website, or help anyone. Therefore THEY SUCK!
