You worded this post as if we have been at your house watching u and already know precisely what u are trying to accomplish.

How about starting from the beginning and explaining everything as if we have no idea what u are doing.

There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

ok im sorry i have been round circles for hours now. i have all these AVI files that i want to burn to free up space on my comp. they are all movies, tv shows, etc. i was told that i needed to convert them into .VOB, so i read thru a bunch of things to find some sort of converter. i got one to split, into the audio and video files by using TPMGEnc, and then i read that it had to go through IFOEdit. so i downloaded that. when i get thru clicking dvd author, and all the steps shown on a FAQ area somewhere on this site, it says failed write. so that is where i left off in the process, and also, it says that my disk space is low, and the comp. froze and had to be restarted. please help!

It sounds to me like you don't have enough space on your hardrive to write the DVD title-set that IFO Edit is trying to create. If you are compiling a full DVD, you will need about 4.5GB free on your hard disk so that IFO Edit can write a full image in preparation for burning.
One IFOEdit has successfully created the titleset, make sure that it is saved in a folder called VIDEO_TS (all caps) and burn that folder with your favorite DVD burning software (Nero, RecordNow, etc).
