Hello,

I currently use AVI2DVD to burn my movies but it maxes out at 8,000 video bitrate. I have a couple movies that are 10,000 bitrate.

Are there any programs that allow higher than 8,000 or is that the capacity for a DVD+/-R

standard dvds have a max bit rate of 9,000. most store bought dvds have a bit rate of 3,500 to 6,000. im assuming that ur converting avi files to mpeg2. if this is the case and ur trying to get better quality, then i would suggest a better source. most avi files are 700mb to 1400mb. with this much compression, the video will not be as good as the original dvd (before compression) no matter how high the bitrate is or what software u use.

Thanks for the response.

I am using 4gb and 8gb mkv files for my sources.

The couple files that I have that are 10,000 bitrate are 8gb files.

The software I use maxes out at 8,000 bitrate. I was curious if there are any programs that would accept higher than the 8,000.

It appears that the standard DVD maxes out at 9,000 bitrate per your response so I guess I would not get a whole lot higher even if there was a program that would accept 9,000 bitrate.

mkv files are better quality than the standard avi file, ive been doing them for about a year now. there have been a few discussions on how to get high bit rates and how to burn in mpeg4 format, but i havent really seen a whole lot so far. here is a link u might find helpful. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/624582
