Hi guys, I know you probably get this a lot but I've read through so many threads in the last 4 hours than my eyes are starting to go funny. I bought a PS3 today and I'm made up with it but I just can't get the media server part working. I have installed Nero MediaHome.
It can see the PS3 on my network as follows:

And MediaHome is allowed on my firewall as follows:

The server is running, but the PS3 tells me "No servers found", I just can't work out why this is.
Does anyone have anything I can try whatsoever?
Thanks,

How is your network setup? ie. how have you run your cables, router, computer, PS3 etc.

I have a wireless router.
That is connected to the PC by ethernet cable.
And the PS3 is connected wirelessly as it's in the front room.
All online features of the PS3 are working nicely. (quite impressed with the web browser as it happens)

So you have it hooked up like this?:
Internet -> Modem -> Router -> Computer, PS3
If that's the case, that negates my first theory of you having the modem hooked to the PC then from the PC to the router. Have you tried putting your PS3 into a DMZ?

The modem and router are all one unit sitting happily on my desk.
Just read this thread: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthre...&t=78328&page=3
That guy got his working by changing a setting in the router that I don't have. I have a feeling I could spend forever trying to track this down.

So you mean your modem and wireless router are the same piece of kit? Give me some info on it; manufacturer, model # etc. and I'll see what I can do.

Whoa! I think I sussed it. I upgraded my router firmware and I can now see the media server! No files are being displayed so I'll tackle that now!

It's all done! I just sat and watched some videos in my front room :D All I needed to do was the router firmware update, can't believe I've spent 6 hours fiddling with settings I don't even understand!
Regardless, thanks for all the suggestions, one very happy PS3 owner now, I even downloaded lemmings for the missus and she's so engrossed she hasn't noticed I didn't wash up :)
