My Slim 3.90-M33 bricked after I installed TimeMachine. I was trying to load 1.50 kernel files, but obviously didn't know what I was doing. I still have no idea what went wrong, but oh well, I've learnt my lesson and won't be messing with TimeMachine again.
To make matters worse, I was an idiot, and deleted the Universal Unbricker from my memstick.
Soooo, I don't have another PSP, nor do I know anybody nearby who owns one. But I had a great idea! Long story short, DealExtreme is shipping my Pro Duo USB card reader in the next couple of weeks. ;)
I plan to re-create my jigkick memstick via that, using the TOTALNewbi-easyInstaller package. But I'm nervous that this won't work. Lots of people say you must format the memory stick with the PSP itself, rather than through Windows.
The problem is, this is impossible. I can't access the XMB to format it on my PSP. I'll have to do it via the USB card reader.
I figured I would post this now, so that I'll have some useful advice by the time I get the delivery - How do you rate my chances of succeeding this way? Will it matter whether my memstick is formatted correctly, as long as the Unbricker files exist on it?
if you reformatted your mem stickor deleted the msipl.bin then yest you have to fully recreate the mem stick if you only deleted the universal unbricker files then you can just replace them but either way if you cant do anything with out a card reader if you cant enter recovery// as far as using windows to reformat it will work fine as long as you use xp vista will not work
yes windows format will make it work, i had a similar problem myself and managed to make the unbricker using a XP machine, it HAS TO BE xp, vista will NOT work.
