What is a Wii ribbon cable? I know what a ribbon cable is but I'm unaware of one that is a specific Wii ribbon cable. They are used in various ways and can be used in Wii modding so I can only assume you want one for a specific job. If so what is that?
Why? It's a proprietary part. I'm sure Nintendo stocks them but it's not available to the general public because there are "no user serviceable parts" in the Wii.
You knew that before you opened it up, didn't you?
just send it back to N to fix. they don't "care" if you've modded it. they will most likely remove your mod chip and send it back with your "fixed" wii.
otherwise you can just solder wires for the messed up connections on your ribbon. fist figure out which leads are broken and then where they connect on the underside (or top side) of the drive board and motherboard. Then solder a few wires in their place. that's what I would do if I couldn't find the ribbon.
hi, just been looking myself lately for a dvd ibbon for my wii as i thought mine had been damaged, luckily it was ok it was something else at fault, but while searching i found numerous amounts of people with this problem of getting their hands on this cable , i did eventually find someone on ebay who can supply what is a replacement cable , not a true nintendo one, but according to his feedback it does the job and so i thought i'd pass this info on to others as i found him completely by chance and for some reason the search on ebay does not find him, his useranme is edwards1, at the moment he is showing no iems for sale but i have contacted him and he will sell the ribbons to the uk, so i hope this may be useful to someone, paul
