It has done it before and had the x clamp mod thing, and also a firmware mod, but its persistant.

Where do i stand when sending it back to MS?

Any of you guys sent a modded xbox 360 back to them for repair, if so what was the outcome?

If you still have the warranty sticker and the xbox doesnt look like its been modded then you got a 95% chance of geting a new one. MS doesnt to what I have seen check the system for mods or clamps. The just check the stickers and sometimes I think they dont even turn them on to see if they have RROD. But ya I have sent back 4 modded xbox's all have come back new well kinda new. And if you dont have a sticker go to ebay.com and buy one for 20 bucks

You said it's persistent but not totally dead. I would suggest you to find out why it keeps on going RROD before sending it in.

Call MS and see if they will repair it no point in wasting more time trying to fix it if they will.

dude,

it's an easy fix! Watch video and do it. takes around 2 hours but it will fix your problem for sure! The problem is your xbox 360 cpu is over heating.

ok, does your xbox still has the 2 X-Clamps on the back of the motherboard?

You will need to remove this and replace them with the flat pan screws like in the video. You can not keep the existing X-Clamps thus the issue will continue to exist.

Mine is still working for over 6 months with lots of continueous play time.
