I successfully used the stickied "GUIDE: Universal Unbricker V3 Using Official Firmware FAT/SLIM PSP" and am now at 3.90 M33-3. Decided to try the network update feature and it worked like a champ.

Seems to be working. I'm a little worried after seeing some news about ps3news as I had no idea there was a "bad" cfw version. And I'm guilty of not always reading lic. agreements so I'm hoping that Larry's guide and downloads were legit. Since they seem to work I assume I'm ok. I have no idea if I ever visited this website when looking for info as there were several hits on google and I may clicked some while trying to figure out where to read up.

My new question: I thought at one point I found a post that listed out the options in the recovery menu and maybe explained them a bit. I can't seem to find it now. Can anyone point me the right direction? For example change CPU speed - you might need to do this when playing XXX, etc.....Thanks just want to read up on the options that I now have available and understand menu options....
I wouldn't mind having a reference if something goes wrong.

Ignore the part about the menu options. I found larrylje blog on the subject. Not sure why I searched again and found it.

Still interested in "good" and "bad" download sites though. I don't want to brick with malicious files.
