Do I need to make an ISO or can I just directly copy a backup (not original)?

Are you talking on the fly? Cos if you are I think it's risking a coaster or two even if it's possible. I'd grab the image from the backup first and then burn it.

Wii 3.2E w/ Wiikey 1.9s :: PSP 3.90 M33-3 :: NDS w/ R4DS :: Nokia N95

does "on the fly" mean a direct copy? I tried dumping the backup with a gdr drive using raw dump, and got that right file size, but not when I make an ISO from the backup (using imgburn). Will a copy burned from the image of a backup (with IMGBURN) work? Even if it doesnt come to that exact size?

On the fly - from a reading drive to a burning drive.

The Iso should work - only one way to find out ;)

I guess there is only one way to find out, should be getting my chip tomorrow.

So burning on the fly is not reliable? but technically, should it work?

as juniR said, on the fly is a straight copy from a ROM to a BURNER. It is always safer to copy via a temp file on the hard drive first. Most burning programs give you that option.

But that is not the original question.

I don't believe you need Rawdump to rip the copied game back into an ISO to copy it again. Simply use Image burn or Nero to copy dvddisc. Use the option to copy to HDD first.
