I inserted my mem stick and these are the steps I followed:
1.opened the psp folder
2. opened the game folder
3. created a new folder and named it
4 added the pbp file and the key file

5. put my mem stick inside my psp
6. turned it on
7. opened my memstick and opened the file. the file started and then you see see a screen of words and the a few seconds later you hear a click and then a blank black screen?

I am not sure whats going on nor ever had this happen to me. can someone help me out or explain what might be going on?

Id say the file is likely to be corrupt...especially as its an eboot version of the game. try to get hold of the ISO and you shouldnt have any problems.
The clicking noise will be the PSP hard-resetting as it is unable to run the game, or the game freezes. This happened to me when i tried to rip my copy of MOH: Heroes 2 but the USB cable messed up.

Hope that helps

Popsloader is what enables you to play psx games. When someone ups a psx eboot they usually state for which firmware. Then with popsloader enabled when you start the game for the first time you'll be given a list of which firmware to use, choose the corresponding firmware that was stated in the download and your good to go, now every time you choose that game it'll automatically choose that firmware. If you don't know the firmware it was created for choose each one by one until it works. You can change the firmware by holding the R trigger when you start the game.

For popsloader easy install just go to mininova and search PSP PRX and there's a 26mb file pack with all the sony prx's , just drag and drop the seplugins folder to the root of your mem stick, then go into recovery and under plugins enable popsloader.

BADA BING BADA BOOM....your ready to go!!

Rickem,

I got the psp prx thing and tried to put something onto my mem stick but I must not be doing something right becuase nothing is really working. could you explain what you mean by this? "just drag and drop the seplugins folder to the root of your mem stick, then go into recovery and under plugins enable popsloader.

What is the root? I have something that says MP-Root when I open my mem stick? when I tried to drop the seplugins folder into the root it would not let me? also what is the recovery that you are talking?

So when I open my mem stick this is what is on it:

MP_root
music
picture
psp
video
iso

Now when you mean root do you mean just add another folder to this?
