I recently tried to mod my wii with a wiikey. I was stupid and did not buy a thinner (pointier) solder head to solder with. The one I used was quite chunky and would not work very well within the confines of the wiikey. If you refer to this picture: http://www.ps2cover.com/images/articles/...-board-zoom.gif

underneath points 3, 4, 5 and 6, there are two little black components. These were accidentally taken off with a wick and I do not know where they are. To my understanding, the are called smd's (surface mount devices) and require you to solder each end. Would I be able to get these from an electrical shop (I have one with me that stocks everything imaginable for electronics and components). How would I be able to go about this? Would I be able to purchase these little black things?

Thanks in advance.

Possibly, but probably not.

First, you would have to identify what they are.

Manufacturers often substitute the generic part number with house markings that make it almost impossible to identify.

Second, these could be proprietary chips that you cannot get off the shelf.

Someone with a schematic or a parts list would have to identify that chips they are.

If you are lucky (if there are only two leads to solder), they might only be resistors or capacitors which you could find locally, but you would have to know the proper part and specifications.

IMHO, you'd better start looking for a professional modchip installer to help you.

Who would I be able to see for this list?

There are 2 points to solder on each little black component.

Yeh, I have contacted a few places to get them to see if they can install the chip and these black components.

I'll be honest with you here, it wasn't me that did the soldering, it was my Dad. I let him know about it when he unsoldered those little black components...
