Hello!

I have a PAL Wii with wiikey firmware 1.9S. When I insert an NTSC (changed to PAL via Regionfrii)Big Brain academy , I am told to do an update. Is it safe to do this without bricking the Wii/Wiikey?

I've already tried the WiiBrickBlocker on the image and burned it, but this just causes a black screen and the Wii to freeze after the start menu.

I've tried looking for RS links of the PAL version of this game, but have had no luck...

Looking around on google, I've seen that using this NTSC Brain Academy update on bricked NTSC Wiis can actually fix them, but can't find what will happen to a PAL Wii by installing the update. Has anybody done the update on their own PAL Wiis?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Make sure your Wii firmware is up to 3.2 by updating online and you should be ok to go ahead and take the game update.

OK thanks for your reply. I've done the update, but now I get the same black screen that I got when I had used the WiiBrickBlocker. Anybody else had this problem?

I assume region override is on. Freeloader might sort it out or switching screen to 60 Hz or both.

It's not compatible on it's own... see here 0183.

I have a jap wii, the big brain academy is pal. I tried it on the wiikey update blocker and brick blocker, both of them are giving me a black screen and some noise from the dvd-rom. is there a fix?
I didn't take the risk of accepting the update.
