Hi guys, i have a dreambox 500C and its not working NTL have screwed us again, im just wondering in lamen's terms how do i go about fixing it?
I have a cable that screws into the back of the dreambox and then into my laptop-but i have NO CLUE as of what to do now, a dummies guide to fixing this lil problem would be much appreciated!!

Hi all , I am having dificulty getting my dream box back working.
Its the 500c but when I click on the yellow button on the remote and plug ins comes up , the only pluug in I have is recording and teletext , there is no option for TuxBox Commander , Any ideas on what I can do now....cheers in advnace

If you have a Digitalworldz image TuxBox Commander is there when you pres the yellow button or press blue maybe or sumten for a dif image.
1.Press the yellow button.
2.Press TuxBox Commander
3.Press Ok on the ' var ' directory
4.Press Ok on the ' keys ' directory
5.Press 4 on the remote when you have
highlighted ' keylist.txt '
There Should be 2 lines there:
Edit the lines:
N 5401 00 067AF388D22415F5
N 5401 01 7375C3CC596DDFFA
If there more lines there delete the extra lines
Them two line is all thats needed.
6. Press Exit & Save
7. Exit again
and press menu & press shutdown &
reboot now.
Should be Working Now!!!

I have tried both blue and yellow buttons, I get a menu allright on pressing the blue button but cant seem to find tuxbox commander, does any1 have any idea where I can find it in the settings , cheers

you would need DW2 image to access TuxBox Commander.
gemini, tuxbox comm. needs to be downloaded via internet via blue button addons.
diorj or other...i dont really know

To Autoroll isnt working anymore, there needs to be changes made to 3 different files nagrarom11.bin, nagrarom10 & nagrarom7 with the code i posted eariler, i havent got it working either.
but i am pretty sure thats how its fixed.

i connected to my dreambox through a router, i uploaded the DW2 image and then flashed it. couldn't get back in via router so i'm trying with a serial cable. screen is black and no response, using DreamboxControlCentre it keeps asking me for IP's and i don't have one for the dreambox, anybody know how to get it going again?

I tried ur step by step guide and changed the keys, it rebooted but nothings happening, do u reckon ill have to hook it up to my laptop with that cable u keep mentioning and do something with it?? HELP!!

nope, u wrong . roms are just an images of viewing cards- nothing to change here
new autoroll method goes to EMU ( EVOCAMD etc )but there is one issue here-- source code for the evocamd, mgcamd are not public, so u cant change it
- anyhow, as far as the SAME keyroll intrd. to UK today, fix whould be available shortly:)

was reading up on another forum someone posted that code, guessed it was to do with them files seein as they where the biggest files in the keys folder my bad guess i was wrong.

I am wondering that myself???
All us folks like you and I are waiting for the clever people to fix the autoroll on Evocamd. Evocamd has no public source code so programmers can't write changes. It looks like we might be changing our emulator to Mgcam or sumthing because its open source is public. Hopefully soon we can all update the image tru Digitalworldz internet update feature.

hi, my dream box 500c not working, i live in cardiff, could you please help? i am complete novice with electronic, so would be nice if anybody could provide step by step solution, i had dream box running for last 7 months without problem, but suddenly it had problem, encrypted channels not working, only free to air working..i am not gettin any tux option on pressing yellow or blue button, as mentioned in some threads.. please help....

You folks need a NTL IMAGE , like digitalworldz2.
AYou can flash via lan which is easy peazy.
Byou can flash via null modem cable
CYou can download tuxbox commander if your dreambox has the Gemini image, just press the blue button, goto addons, select download server. press plugins. press and download Tuxcom 1.16 08/04/07. install that.
then press the blue button. goto addons. goto tuxbox commander and read the rest of this thread.
DYou can't really do much if your image is diorj, you'll probably have to do A or B...
