Hi I have just used jokerjay method posted 15th april on my DM 500c

HI,
I am new to this forum and would really appreciate some help. I have a dreambox 500 which has recently gone down.
I have flashed the box with the DW 2.0 image with success.
I have put in the most recent keylist file and also added the new nag7 file to the ver/keys file using ftp.
The problem is when i connect the box to the T.V and router and power up it doesnt find anything on the transponder scan using the bruteforce.
I am flashing the box in my office but connecting to the t.v at home but both nt hell network.
Also my kryptview is working fine at home using the same lines.
Any ides because i have spent days trying to work it out?

HI. I HAVE ALSO FLASHED MY 500C WITH THE DW2.0 IMAGE, BUT I CANT FTP MY ROM FILES AS THE MESSAGE
"A SOCKET OPERATION WAS ATTEMPTED TO AN UNREACHABLE HOST
CLIENT CLOSED THE CONNECTION"
ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
MY HEAD IS WRECKED WITH THIS.

check scart lead sounds like that loose or dodgey if not reflash the image with dream-up

hi follow my instructions posted on page 11,12 14 and 15 and you will be up and running, also why connect your dreambox to your router you dont need to, just reflash the image and add nagraRom7 or use my instructions as if you update your box by the internet BEWARE VIRUS ABOUT use a nul-modem cable
best explain from start to finish what you did

you need a null modem cable to connect from laptop to pc.
i picked one of these up from satworld in kimmage(they're online also) for 7 euro's.
does anyone know can the nagrem files be flashed up to the dreambox or can they only be ftp'd up?
I don't yet have the ability to ftp.
If people have the same problem as me download the toolbar onto ye're pc and the updated codes will be shown there.

Hi Jokerjay.
The process i used to flash the box was exactly as you mentioned on page 14.
What i did was:-
Connected the box to the computer using null modem and flashed as you said in you instructions.
Unplugged the box and connected it to the router using eathernet and ftp the new nag7 file and the keylist to the var/keys folder. i can only find the box through null modem using dreamup thats why i connected through eathernet.
unlugged everything and connected at home to router, scart and power.
Followed instructions, transponder search - Nothing gets found.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I then restarted evocam and voila everything back. So far so good - it seems to be updating itself. So thanks a million for all the advice given here. And if someone can tell me how to backup the image I will gladly upload it for everyone. Cheers.

When you say you "deleted old keys in the keylist.txt file" do you mean deleting ALL the keys or did you just delete those that didnt have todays date??

just delete the keylist.txt file only.and restart your cam.it will then make a keylist Automaticaly .
channels will then come back

Yep. As regionfre says, I deleted ALL the keys in the keylist file and then restarted evocam. So the was NO keys at all in the keylist file. I saved it with no keys. It generated the new keys itself. All good so far.

Thanks for the clarifiaction, will try that.
I have DM500T (C***** MMDS) working off Gemini 3.6 with evocam 2.12. Copied in the new Rom 7,10,11 bin files before the channels went last night but still lost channels. Hadnt deleted the keys before reloading so maybe thats the issue.
Does anyone have a similar set up as me and got the new roms to autoupdate, just wondering if they are valid for the image I'm using?

Thanks regionfre thats good to hear as there are so many variations of set-ups its hard to figure whats relevant.
I actually put the roms files into var/keys folder but I think that updates the var/scce folder at the same time, so probably its the same thing. Will give it a go, thanks again.

you need this to get the keys and fixers in the future also its very useful too. guides and all info you will ever need inc links etc

I only FTP'd nag 7 didn't bother about 10 and 11, it works fine
