Try searching the web. We dont all have time to play on this all the time. I spent a week trying to sort boxes. Aint got time for step to step tutorials.

New tutorial
1. You will need relevant software so that your box can be fixed properly.
Dream up, Flash Wizard. Dreambox Control Center. Extract the file and autorun the program. A small box will appear with the relevant software.

2. Now you need this image i have FULLY WORKING! This is a flash wizard file and need to be flashed through the flash wizard program or through Dreamup . PLACE THIS IMAGE ON YOUR DESKTOP. EASY TO FIND.

3. Now that you have downloaded the WORKING IMAGE. Connect to your dreambox via DCC. You will need your Dreamboxes ip address for this. If you do not have it and have an image already on you box. Go into the setup, expert, communications. Your ip address will be in here.
4. Once you have connected to the dreambox. Open Flashwizard. Go into configuration and ultilies at the bottom of the box. Make sure the ip of the dreambox is the same as the one in dcc. It should be. If not change it.
Now Click Install a Firmware to flash memory. Now you will need my WORKING IMAGE. You downloaded above. Click the open folder tab. Browse for the image. Should be on your desktop as instructed above. Click open.
The image should now be visible in the box.
Now click flash image backup. This will install the image to your box.
Takes approx a minute.
Once completed reset the box. PLug into ur tv. And try.
It should now show that the flash is installed.
Do the scan using your area. For example Uk or ntl ie etc.
Once the scan has finished check your channels. TRY SS1 FIRST. If you dont have the channel. Reboot box. This time the evocam should startup and will roll the channels.
This is the simplest way to install this image. If this doesnt work or you have problems connecting to your dreambox you will have to go down the null modem route. Please leave me a message if you have problems with this.
Null Modem Fix:
You will need a program called dreamup.

Then download the image. The null modem one. Save this to desktop.
You need to plug the null from the box to pc.
With the dreambox switched off start up dreamup program.
Then untick use network box. Then click connect. Startup the dreambox.
It will connect. The flash box will then open. Click this it will ask for image. The image you downloaded open that. Then it will flash the image to your box. If asked to flash erase click NO!
Then flow the rest of the procedure mentioned in previous posts.

Hi,
Thanks for the information, i downloaded and managed to flashed my box with your image.
however still i am unable to view SS1 and other channels.
i got c .. w. your advice is greatly appreciated.

9) Now plug the Dreambox into the mains and make sure it is switched on. If everything is working right you should get a blue progress bar appearing within a second or two. After the bar finishes, you should have the message ?Box attached and ready? beside status. You are now ready to flash. (one thing to note here is that the first version of DreamUp I tried did nothing at this point, I had to update to the newer version for this to work)
10) Press the flash button and select the image you want to flash to the box.
11) Select yes (?Ja?) when asked if you want to perform a flash-erase during the process
12) The flashing process will now begin

13) Once the flashing process is complete (in my case this was about 9 minutes later), a message box appears saying ?Box was flashed successfully?)
14) Hit OK
15) Unplug the box from the mains and leave for about 30 seconds
16) Plug the box back in and you should now be back in business

I had this problem ["error 10057 in function send socket is not connected"]. Turns out that the IP address that DCC was automatically detecting for my PC was incorrect (although it did match the IP address that I got from using startmenu--->run(or windows button+r)-->"cmd"-->"ipconfig /all" command in DOS). I plugged out my network cable so I had no router connection/no internet connection etc and checked the IP address again through DOS - it was different this time. Restarted DCC and the correct IP address was available in the drop down menu for my computer. Then it's just a matter of setting up the Dreambox IP (DB setup menu->communications->expert setup->set IP address to same as computer with last digit changed to .4) and connecting.
Not sure if this helps or why this happens, but it seems to me that the error is a result of DCC detecting the incorrect IP address for your computer and the answer is to temporarily remove all connections, wireless or cable, to other devices/networks and restart DCC.

Hi guys, I just read all the updates in this thread, and noticed the negative responses to CGScott. If someone goes out of their way to help you, I think it's very rude to direct your frustration to him, if you can't get your Dreambox to work right away. You're not the only person who can't get it to work, we all had to go through this. Just calm down, and try again. In the end of the day, you'll get it to work, and if not today, you get it to work tomorrow. What struck me reading on this forum, is that guys don't take time to READ. Asking for help is easy, but why not READ all the post from page 1 to page 30 BEFORE you ask. If you read through all the posts in this thread you get your box to work, guaranteed. Mine is working fine for one week now, I don't even notice it when it updates keys. Works like a charm.

Thanks for the response guys.
When i said this was a working image. It was. Seemed that a lot of people were making the mistake of click yes to the flash erase when asked using the null modem cable.
This is a vital part of the installation. You must click NO.
Well before markarman was shouting his mouth off i had my box up and running. I simply had to devise a way to get a working image for yous guys so your boxes could be flashed simply.
I found markarmns comments hilarious and to be honest i dont think the guy has a box at all.
If you read back on his previous posts on this forum yu will see when he slated me he tried to null modem my image and it didnt work. That is when he started his comment that Phase123 mentioned above.
