I have gone back through forum but nothing tells me what I have to do if
it keeps asking me to switch on box and box is already on. I have reflashed Eurovox & Starview before with no trouble but this one is giving me grief, any help would be great thanks

to be honest i completed mucked mine up but gave it to a friend who contacted CGSCOTT and he sorted out both mine and my friends box. I know mine works but have not checked it coz i lost the plug lol! try contacting him and asking him to explain to you what youhave done wrong. yes the EV was simple to do lol

Network cable connects from the pc to the box... no modem needed.
Then communicate with it via DCC.
It`s worth trying a crossover cable or connecting with a normal cable to a network and running the suggested program to search for it.

Now Click Install a Firmware to flash memory. Now you will need my WORKING IMAGE. You downloaded above. Click the open folder tab. Browse for the image. Should be on your desktop as instructed above. Click open.

The image should now be visible in the box.

Now click flash image backup. This will install the image to your box.
Takes approx a minute.

Once completed reset the box. PLug into ur tv. And try.

It should now show that the flash is installed.

Do the scan using bruteforce.

Once the scan has finished check your channels. TRY SS1 FIRST. If you dont have the channel. Reboot box. This time the evocam should startup and will roll the channels.


This is the simplest way to install this image. If this doesnt work or you have problems connecting to your dreambox you will have to go down the null modem route. Please leave me a message if you have problems with this.

Hi guys,

i've followed everything.

in flash wizard pro when i get to "install firmware into flash memory", then drag and drop the file, click on the file on my desktop, hit open and then asks me "Sure to restore backupped image 'working_dw2.0.fw2'", i click yes then i get the error message "unable to connect to IP address 192...... please check connection parameters"

I'm connecting to the Dreambox 500C using a USB Serial Converter RS232. i had to buy a mini gender changer for it to connect properly.

any ideas?

Did you go check the ip address that your trying to connect to was correct?

I tried the null route but it up loads flash loader and then gets no reply from dream box. I have tried the cross over cable route but the dream box does not regester as connected and I get the same error message as yourself. Their solution is to send it back to them in Germany so they can have a look at it. My mate has said in the bin is where it is going. I personally have spent a lot of time on this and now just want to belt it constantly with a hammer. I followed the tutorial from Chris to fix my own and it worked no problem so I think the guys in Germany may be right. Sorry if this makes matters worse for you but it may stop you wasting your time.
