Downloaded Chris's image from megaupload.Flashed Dreambox using null modem cable and Dreamup.The ONLY way to go.
Tried ftp thing a while back.Far too complicated for my technophobic brain.
Scanned using Bruteforce UK.Then restarted Evocamnd.Within 30 secs..BINGO!
Many many thanks to Chris and Markarman.
As has been said numerous times if people read the thread, follow the instructions and look for the simplest options the answers are there.

Erase the image, reboot then reflash again.
I've tried this several times.
I was under the impression that their might be a problem with the board or the flash memory or whether a 500s box had been installed incorrectly.
Everyone seems to have a different idea, some say it is the image some say the null modem cable.
I've tried erasing the image, using different images and checking the null modem cable, no success. I was wondering whether anyone elese had this problem.
Error message stating "ERROR resetting lock-bits!!"

Right heres the crack guys. Everything you need is in this image simply go to menu and Autosearch transponder. Scroll right to the bottom of the list and choose your provider i.e Bruteforce UK Chorus etc.
Do a scan once this is finished go to a premium channel. I always select bravo.
Click info for few seconds restart the cam and WAIT!
Within a few minutes you will have everything.
GUYS I HAVE TSETED THIS BEFORE I POSTED IT UP SO I KNOW IT WORKS.
Also i deleted the keys from the keylist.txt as it rolls and adds its own keys for your provider so you will only have 2 lines in your keylist txt.

Anyone get this to work on a DMC-500C on N*L in Dublin? I flashed it to my Dreambox, did an Auto search using N*L Ireland Bruteforce ("Dublin - N*L" wasn't locating any transponders) and found all of the channels but only S*y Sp*rts Xtra, RT? 1, Set@nt@ Ireland, etc are working!

Yeah, erased then flashed the downloaded file. Plugged everything back into the box, started it up, Auto scan using "N*L Ireland Bruteforce". Scanned and found all the channels and EPG but only the aforementioned few were working. Selected Bravo, restarted the cam and have left it on the same channel since.
Nothing..... :(

I managed to get it!
FTP'd the new ROMs to the Dreambox and it worked a treat. I was getting worried that I'd have to spend Christmas Day talking to my relations!

hi tom,
earlier in this thread cg scott did say that this new image comes without any keys (i think he said he had removed them) the idea being that when you first scan it will load only the keys you need and not have a huge list of keys.
the back up on this page works fine here in ballyer, the most common problems are that some people click yes when asked to perform a flash erase during flashing, the evocam needs to be restarted after flashing, and scan the wrong area. iscanned ntl dublin first and it didnt work for me so i tried bruteforce uk and all is fine now.

never seen that error message at all, sorry i cant be of any further help other than to say when i was having loadsa problems i just flash erased the whole box, flashed the original gemini image then flashed cg scotts new image over the top and clicked no to flash erase.

i tried the ntl dublin image and got no transponders, so i scanned with bruteforce uk and all was well

Do you really mean 500s as in sat not 500c as in cable?
Don`t know/think this will work with the 500s.
If you mean 500c I`ve been here MicroMac
Flash erase the image, power down then use the original procedure to install a working image... persevere it worked for me.

I'm having the same problems as you did. just those handful of channels. how do i ftp the roms ?

You will now have to use a network cable to communicate with the box.
If you don`t have a router then you will need a crossover cable.
Whatever way you go power up the box, run DCC and click the "search" button under Dreambox to find the ip address, takes a while to scan.
When it finds the address click "reconnect" under "this computer"
If all is well the line connecting the devices will change from red to green. If this fails then there is something wrong with the network connection.
Let me know when you achieve the communication between both devices.

got the dreambox working using ntl basic but won't work through ntl digital can't get the epgs channels are up just no epg help very close
