Thanks to everyone for their help. At first it seems really complicated to sort out Dreambox but it was really easy in the end. For anyone new reading this you will often be directed to CScott files in April but there is a December file available from CGScott also. CGScott is mega but so too are a number of other people - including Hadman.
I now feel like an expert!!

Hi everyone
Been away since christmas and had my Dreambox 500 fixed by a friend and now it seems to have double channels so i thought i would have a go at sorting it out,I downloaded the Flash Wizard Image and by using the cable to connect the box to the computer used Dreamup program and flashed the image file but now i can only get the basic channels. Can anyone tell me where I am gone wrong

sorry mate read it wrong try rescan B/F uk and see what ch you have press info and hold for a few seconds to restart cam try that

Do I install the Null Modem Image the same way as I did the Flash Wizard Image.
And can you tell me the difference between the two

Have tried what you suggested and still no luck, only seem to get bbc1 itv 1 really just basic channels
I have also tried the Flash Wizard Image and when you are in the Dreamup program and click on Flash the Flash Wizard Image File is not there

wont be there using dreamup it is a flash wizard file
have you got the dk img loaded

yes that it load the img and do your scan B/F your aera and then (this is important)press info for a few seconds and that will start the cam go to a ch with a good sinel bravo,sky 1, and youll b up and runing

you need to make sure your cable is working (connect in your normal way and make sure there is a signal and channels)
you need to make sure the connection to your box is good and to the correct plug.
you need to scan the best service provider for your area (i am in dublin, and when i scanned ntl dublin i got "no transponders available" when i scanned brtueforce uk however everything worked)

hey guys sorry if this is not the right forum to post in but my brother (accidently he said)
put water on my dreambox 500c now it wont work.
i tried unplugging all the wires for a few minutes etc. all that comes up on the screen now is loads of lines no picture just sound. is there anyway of saving it or is it only fit for bin.
if its a case of having to bin it would you recommend getting another 500c or trying maybe the 600 series one(would i get more channels with this etc).

I bought a blackbox last december from the website below. It works in exactly the same way as a Dreambox 500. Same cables, same software ect. I did have to wait a little while for delivery as they were out of stock when I ordered but it works fine. I am delighted with it.

i had a starview same thing happen water and left in hotpress to dry for a week and it worked bang on after that it normally ok when it drys if it just water if any kind of suger or additive added its f___D hope your lucky

i would suggest that chris would be a much better person to check out your download, he is the master after all. alternatively phase could take a look if he has the time. I would gladly take a look and offer my opinion, as limited as my experience is with these things.

I think its great what you have done, both images, both uploading programmes, instructions.......
it seems you have thought of everything.
Fair play to you mate.
post the link here for newbies etc.
you should also try and see if you can get this folder put into eamos library, thats where most people get their software etc.
Dunno if you need chris scotts permission to share the image though.
nice one (i wish i had the patience to put something like this together)
