oh forgot to say.

when you post the link you should probably put instructions how to use megaupload as well. i have seen a couple people complaining they couldn't get the file (it turned out they hadn't put the security code in at the top lol )

Here`s a good tutorial for the people who don`t want to search through the thread looking for answers. It`s got a good bit on satellite instal but you can skip past it.

oh dear i forgot about the dreambox. a friend of mine took it to download new firmware before xmas and dont think he managed to get either of the boxes sorted. I know the dreambox one is more complicated than the others. And no i can honestly say ive not looked for firmware or how to as he was sorting it for me. By the time he gets them both sorted they will have gone down again lol!

I updated my box and it worked perfectly! Nice skin aswell i must say.

i think it just on a week sig ch it mite just be the way i have the cable done in my house if i take the sky box off the line it stops ill figer it out and let you know and thanks for getting back and thanks phase for the file i hadet got that

Hi I have just bought the dream box, and updated the firmware to the latest from the dreambox site. but i cannot find the keys.txt file in the var folder.

question - do i need a smart card?
also we have 3 tvs that want cable, can we share the card if we need it?
its connecting to a virgin line. any idea how to find the channels? i cant even tune free to air

firstly you do not need a smart card.

secondly the dreambox firmware does not contain the required "crack" to get television channels from virxin choxus or nxl.

read back through this forum a couple pages and you will see a great link posted by hadmad (hadmad (Junior Member) 27. January 2009 @ 14:55)to download a folder that contains all the programmes and instructions you need to "flash" ( programme)your box with the relevant software (the image) made by cg scott the gandalf of dreamboxes.

you will also need to buy a nullmodem cable to connect the box to your pc.

read back a bit... its all there. once you have got started if you need any specific pointers give us a shout and someone will try and help.

HI all I have been given a dreambox 500c to see if i can get it working i think it stoped working before xmas
I have been looking through the forum and i have flashed it using dream up with the backup file listed a few pages back i have then scanned for channels and its found them all but i can only view the free to air channels I have left it on sky 1 and bravo which is supposed to be strong signal about 75% i think as someone sugested but still no joy has any ideas what im doing wrong.
I am used to flashing starview boxes were you enter the secret menu and turn emu on is it something like this ?

press info on the remote for a few seconds and it will start the cam
that should be it get back if not
