In light of the recent fix for the Itgates,is there any whisper of a cure for those poor unfortunates that have a dreambox as a paperweight, or should they dream on?

my dream500 is not working, when i start it, TV screen remains black and dream500 green LED keep on. please help.
such problem means, some thing wrong with the hardware or software?

Depend on what image you have flashed on the box.
Didi it work before?
More info needed.
Whats your location etc?
If it is just needing a fresh image click the link on my signature at the bottom of this post and that will take you to the area you need to look at.
read on from there. Everything is explained.
Off to watch the footy.

thanks chirs for the reply.
yes, its was working before, suddenly dead after rebooting last night. i did not updated anything, received brand new from the seller with mgcamd subscriptions. i think it was clone.
my question are:
1- is it a hardware fault or software?
2- if i update with dreamup, then all my subscriptions will be lost?

dears i have the same problem for dream500s as explained by "booboo216" in his post at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/769924
his post: "Hi, a family member has had the dm500 workin for a while, last week he went to reboot it and the screen on the tv just went blue, the green light on the front of the box is permenantly on and the box does not respond, i have tried flashin with null modem cable and dreamup, i get the message on dreamup sayin box flashed succesfully but when i connect eveything back up i still get the same thing, nothing on the tv, and green light permanantly on front of dreambox and box not responding,i am very grateful of any help please, many thanks in advance. "
please help. either my dream500s is dead or still i have hope?

is there any way you can get bbc1,bbc2,c4 sly1,2 back on dreambox 500c,these have not gone to N2 yet but cant be scanned back in???????????
ps dreambox support here has totally dried up.

Hi, can some1 please PM me with any info they can about dm500-c?? Im lost by this thread. after goin through almost all pages and havent a clue how to fix, scan flash anything or dont even know if a new fix is out.
And is it possible to get channels back if i still have some now???
Sorry for my ignorance on the topic but i really am a newbie and havent a clue.

Dreamboxx support has not dried up. Its an open source box so as such the community can work on a fix as a whole. The info on how to do it has been posted across many forums and there are people working on it, but not from a commercial point of view, these are guys who want to fix it not just for the free TV.
There may be a fix but its certainly not public as of yet.
