X clamp repair problem...

I'm having an issue repairing my 360.
I messed around with the washers and I got 3 RRoD's flashing then it goes to 2 red lights.
I assumed the heatsink wasn't attached properly so I went to work messing around with the washers trying to get everything to touch properly.
Now all I'm getting is one green light.
As soon as I turn the 360 on the green light comes on once then it turns off right away.
Any ideas?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....Good for you. However you might want to note that I didn't pick on you. You screwed up your xbox and can't get it to work. Easiest thing to is to send it back for repair, and thats what I suggested. And as far as me saying no problem. It was just a reply to your thank you.

You can't send it back for repair once it's been opened everybody knows that.
I didn't thank you either I said it was useless advice and then you tried to be sarcastic with your thank you.
I hope you get banned if you haven't got anything inteligent or nice to say then why bother coming onto forums where people are asking for help.

I never said thank you. I said no problem. And yes you can send back your 360 for repair after it has been opened. Most people are smart enough to not break their warranty seal. If you are one of those people then you can send it back no problem. If not then have fun with your paper weight.

To get to the x clamp and heatsink you obviously have to break your warranty seal.
If your smart enough to understand that youd know you were giving useless advice.
Fact is you were giving useless advice trying to be a smart ass now your on the defense.
Like I said I hope you get banned.

There are many ways to get the sticker off here is one that was found with a simple google search. And yes your xbox can be sent back to MS for repair even if you opened your case. My xbox has the firmware mod yet the warranty sticker it still in place. I didn't do it myself. A fellow AD memeber did but IT CAN BE DONE. Your got the RROD, make it happen again. Get a new sticker of ebay. Send it in for repair. END OF STORY.
P.S. Good luck with the ban.
This technique does not require you to heat-up the sticker in anyway. You just need to separate one side of the sticker sticker void warranty xbox 360 teamxmods from the case (note: the entire sticker does not need to be removed). This tech is incredibly simple, just requiring patience and a little work. The blowdryer + razor tech didn?t work for me, but many have said it did work for them. Maybe a combination of both methods would work best.
You can now send your xbox 360 in for repairs if ever in need. Microsoft?s servicing department hasn?t been known to do this, but they could perform a ultraviolet light check and see that one side of the sticker has been removed. I don?t think this will constitute warranty voidance or become standard practice, but use at own risk.
Sticker Removal Instructions
?When you have the face plate and the side vents off Just lever the 1st clip (on the left) a little while pushing the case apart slightly, so the clip stays open, working your way from left to right towards the seal do each clip the same. When you get to the clips closest to the seals try and get them both open while the seal is still attached, a little levering should do the trick Then just gently lift the case by the seal while at the same time pulling it apart and you will find the seal gives way to the pressure and one end always slides off intact leaving the whole sticker in tip top condition. by Whirlers
Works every time for me, just takes a little practice.

Thanks for the advice.
I know you can use the blow dryer technique but the problem here is the warranty seal was off before I got the 360 so that wasn't an option, besides I don't think Microsoft do warranty on second hand consoles.
I didn't pay for this console I got it for free from somebody that lacked the patience to fix it and everything was going well till it seems like it got "fried".
If it's fried I may purchase another motherboard after testing it some but I want some ideas as to what people might do in this case before I purchase a motherboard.
Just trying to get some ideas in this scenario man because personally I'm stumped.

I don't know how easy it would to put in just a mobo. The dvd drive and motherboard are married together I believe. Its to keep people from taking a system with a samsung and swapping out the drives of that with a benq for example. It can be done though.
Microsoft offered extended warranties for earlier systems because of the RROD issues. Odds are this is an older system that does not have HDMI. If thats the case call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and give them the serial (Located under the flap of the face plate by the USB ports), and see if you can send it back in for repair. If you can then buy another warranty sticker off ebay and slap it on and ship it out.
I wasn't trying to be rude with you earlier on purpose. IMHO I believe sending it to MS would be less of a headache then trying to fix it yourself.

No problem. This might sound dumb to some but look up a high res pic of an xbox mobo and compare it to the one you got. Look at the x-clamp area and see if there is anything standing out. You might have something touching causing the the 360 to ground out and power off. Also did you remove and replace any thermal paste? You said you reseated the heatsink right?

I've sent a 360 into M$ that had the xclamp mod done to it, and received a refurb back, so his advice wasn't that off.
