Can you hear the sound? It's a PAL game, so it may run at different settings. For me, I didn't have to change anything, but you may have to change your Wii/TV settings to run at 50Hz. If you can't hear the sound then it might have just been a bad burn.

the black screen has no sound, when i got this i bought the d2pro mounted on a drive and just switch drives in my system and it worked and all other games i have burned so far plays perfect but this one and its the only pal game i wanted so far. and the site i got this drive from said it hooked up the 4 extra wires for region but they still wont work.

Has anyone added the Mario Kart Channel w/ NTSC Wii?
I'm afraid to, since I have a USA Wii, and don't want to get dup. channels if I get the USA version.
Anyone have an idea how it will work when the USA version will come out?
Also - any speculation if the save files will port to the USA Version of the game from PAL?

At the main title screen, when it says 'Press the A Button' press the A button on the gamecube controller (or classic controller) instead of the wiimote.

Hi guys,
I have the JAP scrubbed version of MKW.
It asked for an update which I allowed and it went thorugh updating firmware to 3.1J
The channel screen loads up with the game but when I start the game, the error 001 appears.
I have read around forums that there is a patch to run, which I did. But this crashes the system whilst reading the game with a refer to manual message and I have to power down the Wii from mains.
Does ths patch only work for PAL scrubbed verions only? Is there one for JAP version if so?
Cheers.

I note there is alreay some sort of cheat in the time trails..
Record holders just do one lap and seem to park up... yet still get a total time for 3 laps !!
How to you say.. online update?

If it's JAP ISO and JAP Wii then there is no need to patch anything. The ppf is for the PAL version to work on NTSC-U that was giving .001 so it's no use to you either. Try different media maybe.

Oh? I thought it threw up that error 001 due to this 3rd partition thing with scrubbed versions. I have been using DataWrite -R at 2.4x
this is just the second game that hasnt worked out of all (this and bomberman land) I will try another media though. Thanks for your advice juniR.

I've seen .001 elsewhere occuring randomly with other games - in other words some guys can play sometimes and then not others so maybe you are right to a point but the patch in this case is because it was happening commonly with MK. It's not an error that is specific to one cause in other words. It's actually quite random from all the instances I've seen and I believe it's all down to whether your Wii likes the disk or not - scrubbing has to be a factor sometimes. I'd grab none-scrubbed if possible and personally tend to only get scrubbed if I'm not bothered about the possibility of Nintendo updating and rendering the game unplayable in the future (if they patch trucha).

Allright
So i played online 1 day befor the release, everything works fine.
Takes about 30sec - 1min to find players and setup a game
Then the next day im gonna play some more online. i pick char and car etc. hmm seems its rather slow today.. i wait 4-5min to find players until it gives me some kind of disconnection message.
Wierd i try again.. i get connect to a 6 player game after about 4-5min, when its about to start i get disconnected.
I doubt its my connection since it was working fine the other day.
Anyone experiencing something similar?

Was trying to show online play to somebody earlier on (about 3 hours ago) and had similar disconnection problem to the one you outline when the phone went... never got back to it and thought nothing more till I read your post so I just tried a race now and it's fine - gotta just be connection probs here and there.

Unless i have missed something, only PAL (european) version of MK Wii is out.. so do what us US users are doing, and regionfrii it to your region, then brickblock it

I hope so - I'd like to think there's some sort of policing goes on to stop offensive nicks and other issues that might occur.
Not accusing you of anything btw - just answering your question.

hmm weird. I got the same black screen as those previously posted.
After selecting mario kart wii from disc channel, goes to black screen, dead.
Argon chip
3.2U
RegionFrii 1.21
and WiiBrickBlocked
(MOMENT) release
TDK 16x DVD+R (works no problem with other games including SMG) burnt at 4x with ImgBurn
Any ideas?

It should work.
The above info is the same except I use TY DVD-R media. Have you tried booktyping the DVD+R to DVD-ROM?
