Hi all,

I have scanned the site and cant find the answer,as im new its a bit double dutch to me.

I created the mariokart iso file using rawdump,i then burned the image to disc using imgburn at 2x

My wii updated firmware to 3.1.

I then got the #001 error message.so i scanned the net,and was told i need to use a patch, which i did,i then tried burning again but now get the channel but then have blackscreen and it goes no further.I have a wiikey modchip and i have tried updating it,well at least i think i used the right file. But still no luck.

Can someone please put me on the right track as its doing my head in

Thanks

Also,what is brickblocker and wiifri?

Did you at least read the first page of this thread?
Did you update your wii via the internet first... well as you say you are on 3.1 you clearly did not..

As for brickblocker and wiifri have you ever seen that new great web type tool thing?
Its called GOOGLE!

I'm also a noob and i've only had a Wii for 6 weeks but i took a few hours and READ this site and others not 'scan'
them, to get a real understanding of the scene..
I would recomend that you get a ISO created by someone else (torrent) as your problem could be your own rip..
and get updated to 3.2 via the web.

If your Wii is PAL (UK) then you do not ave to Brickblock or region fix.
I fact i'm guessing if you try to change a region PAL ISO to PAL?? you have messed it up!

read the first post in this thread..!!

PAL on PAL
Update to 3.2 which you have done.
Download the PAL ISO (dont use your own as we cant verify its continuity)
Burn with IMGBURN on GOOD Media at x2.4 or x4
Do the update on the disk (if your Wii is PAL)
Play the game...

I didnt change the region as it was already the same, also i used an original copy to dump the image(would take me too long to download the iso).

So i dont see what i could be doing wrong really, unless the dumped iso is corrupt.

Bottom line - if you ripped a PAL ISO to burn and play on your PAL machine then absolutely NO PATCHING whatsoever is needed. You rip, burn and run it. It's fundamentally simple. If it doesn't work it's down to media or how you burned or the dump itself... or even all 3.

You ahouldnt even have to mess with the region

Set your Wii to regionfree

I enjoy going down to the store, and spending money on blank dvds.

you go to wii settings ->internet->choose your wifi connection->then after internet is set it will ask you if you want to update. put yes. then thats it.If you dont have wifi you need a wii lan adapter (or go to a friends house with wifi.

Someone should sticky the solution to the first post that I posted. I had the black screen after 3 burns, then I googled and I found the solution. I believe I posted it on the 3rd or 4th page.. when all fails, google.

***Guide to Playing Mario Kart PAL on a NTSC Wii**

This has only been tested by me, and I can not guarantee that it will work. It has worked for me, however. Do this at your own risk. (Although if you follow the steps carefully nothing should happen)
My Wii:
V3.2, D2Ckey, NTSC USA

*Note: It is advisable to create back-up copy of your PAL version, in case anything goes wrong.

1) Have the Full ISO (Right-Click > Properties > Should be
4,699,979,776 Bytes)

2) Download BrickBlocker V1.32. BrickBlocker is a program that patches your game, so it will not ask for an update, thus chances of bricking your Wii is decreased.

3) Open BrickBlocker > Browse your ISO > Press Patch (See below for .net framework error)

4)Download Regionfrii V1.21. Regionfrii changes the game from PAL to NTSC, or in other words patches it to change from Europe to USA. This, again will greatly decrease the risk of bricking your Wii.

5) Open Regionfrii > Browse your ISO > Under "New Region" Select "USA" > Press Update ISO

6) Now, your ISO should be patched so that the update will not occur, and the region is patched from PAL (Europe) to NTSC (USA)

7) Download IMGBurn. IMGBurn allows you to burn Images (.ISO) onto DVDs.

8) Open IMGBurn > Browse Patched ISO > Insert Blank DVD+R > Press Burn

9) You should be good to go! I heard that the Mario Kart Channel does not work.

.net framework v2.0.50727 error when opening BrickBlocker-

Google ".net framework v2.0" > Download it from microsoft.com (NOT the compact version) > The file should be "dotnetfx.exe" >Install
Apparently I downloaded a wrong .net framework v2.0. It was named "NETCFSetupv2.msi" and it installs the "compact" version, which does not work for me.

Hope this helps. I'm new to this forum by the way so if I violated some rules in this forum by posting this, please let me know.

I have a PAL Wii updated to 3.2E
and have a wiikey with 1.9g
I also have a clean burn (no patching) that does work (trialled on a friends wii with a different chip and works)
My wii does not seem to register the game?
the message 'Unable to read disc' comes up and the disc is not recognised,
my original games still work so i'm assuming i'm not bricked- i'm sure this is something ridiculously simple as i've not seen it covered anywhere-

please help!

Also, how do you get the game to work with gamecube controller ? Doesn't seem to recognize it. Anything special I have to do?
