I've been using the PAL version on my US wii. If I start using the NTSC US version will it keep my scores? I really don't want to override my mario kart scores. thanks

I have Mario Kart NTSC retail... asking to update. Can anyone confirm it will not prevent wiikey 1.9s from working?

do you think we will need 1.9s wiikey version in order to run NTSC mario kart wii or do you think 1.9g will still work?

Mario Kart update from disc confirmed safe for wiikey users:

1. Updated to wiikey 1.9s
2. Updated wii firmware to latest via wifi (3.2U)
3. Insert mario kart NTSC retail, accepted update.
4. All retail and backups working 100%.

Enjoy kids.

Hi. I searched but cant find any information on this particular issue. I have a Wii with firmware 3.2U that has an Argon chip with firmware 1.8 and just purchased Mario Kart Retail NTSC. Has anyone played this game on their Wii that has the same specs as me, and if so, did you have any problems. I have yet to put the game into the Wii because I dont want to have any issues with the chip or the Wii. Thanks for your help.

Stupid question perhaps but why are you buying retail if you've had your console chipped? Kinda defeats the objective no?

It was actually a gift...it was purchased by a family member, but I didn't think that was completely relevant, so I just said I purchased it. Instead of explaining the gift aspect of the transaction, I just decided to say that. Basically my point was that it is a retail version of the game and I want to know if I will be having any problems playing any of the backup games I currently have with my argon chip after I do the update that is on the retail Mario Kart disc.

Some people support titles they like. I try games out and if they're something I enjoy and would like to see more of, I buy them.

i cant see why it would be any different. the issue was with the update that shipped with the ntsc disc... since I updated over wifi before, the update on the disc was obviously something unique. my point is that it didn't affect the wiikey's operation. i also had 'block updates' turned on in wiikey config. try the mario kart ntsc backup and do the update, then post your results - the worst that can happen is the backup doesn't boot.

Anyone d/l the NTSC ISO? Does it have a new update that will overwrite the PAL one for people with semi-bricked Wiis? Or must we wait for Wii Fit and beyond? :/

I don't think one is better than the other, but I can vouch for the [BitTorment.net] Mario Kart Wii NTSC USA. Everything works including the Mario Kart Channel.

Burned it as is (no brickblocking or patching) and there were no updates.
