Does anyone know what is causing this? It has been happening on my friend's console too. However, when we do get the game running, it works fine, I just want to be able to boot up the game in one go, instead of trying over and over again.
I get the same thing (original disk also). On average it seems to happen about 20% of the time I try to play. I haven't a clue why it happens but know you are not alone.

Mine did the same but when I plugged it back in it still works, Wiikey, so I do think its bricked and I'm not sure why the channel doesn't work but I think its an ntsc game that was changed to work on pal consoles and the channel will not work on pal wiis

Hello,

I'm having troubles with my Mario Kart wii NTSC backup... The game starts, but after the nintendo wristrap message, the screen gets black and it never loads the game.

I'm using Wiikey, have the 1.9s firmware update.
And used rawdump to make the iso of the game.

What can I do?

Thank you.

MK Hanging for anyone?.

Guys - Pal 3.2E Wiikey 1.9S. Have been playing online MK fine for the first couple of weeks (Verbatim backup) but since Friday, 2 things are happening all the time:

First, I get kicked out of races mid race 'You have been disconnected from other players' is the message against a grey screen, then I have to go back in having been docked 100 points on my race total.

Second: If I manage to complete a race without getting kicked out, the 'Please wait' message right at the end of a race before you can select a new course just stays and stays and I have to power off to escape.

ANYONE ELSE GETTING THIS? Now, I'm happy to buy MK if it fixes the problem - but not if it's just picking up the chip regardless of using orig / backup.

thnks guys.

My opinion is unique. Just like everyone elses.

So I obtained the QwiiF version of Mario Kart, burned with imgburn and popped it into my NTSC D2pro-Wii. The Wii detected the disk and asked me to update. It updated and restarted the system.

After the restart, I saw the Mario Kart screen and clicked play, but the Wii restarted again and now it does not detect the disk. Other backups work fine. What do you guys think is the problem here?

I'm sorry about the link but i thought that internet was a free place without censor and you can say everything, didn't knew that you was going to hang me about this and i don't have time to read rules on every forum i go,if i was doing this no time will left for me to go to work or do anything else. thx..

@Jokam
It's 14 rules - big deal. Since you can't spare the time to read - here's the one about Piracy:
5. -> PIRACY AND LINKING TO PIRATED MATERIAL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE FROZEN IF YOU DO THIS <-

BTW censorship is different from piracy. I hate to break this to you but the internet isn't a totally free for all - there are still rules and laws that apply.

I thought respect was earned, based on your actions, manner, attitude etc etc. If you have no time to read rules how can you expect a moderator to spend extra of their time explaining rules to you instead of just banning you? Hardly seems fair to demand others spend their time on you when you aren't prepared to do the same.
There are several good reasons for the rules here, the main one being if we all posted as you without regard for them the site would be closed down very quickly by certain authorities for legal reasons. You won't get your questions answered then, will you? See how you benefit by a few minutes of reading before posting?

So I got the Qwiif Iso, 4x on Imageburn, played it all weekend. Now suddenly it's jacked up. Loads fine. When I go to select a Circuit or Track it goes black screen with that message to power down, eject and read the manual (right). What's odd is I can play Battle and I can play online. Everything is NTSC. Wiikey 1.9s. 3.2U via online weeks ago. Any ideas?

I also have a clean burn (no patching) that does work (trialled on a friends wii with a different chip and works)
My wii does not seem to register the game?
the message 'Unable to read disc' comes up and the disc is not recognised,
my original games still work so i'm assuming i'm not bricked- i'm sure this is something ridiculously simple as i've not seen it covered anywhere-

please help!

Hi everyone,

Appreciate if you could help a n00b out.

PAL Wii Console

1. Updated Wii with latest update v3.2 via internet (wifi)
2. inserted Mario Kart PAL version and updated wii via game as well (according to the post pal on pal is okay)
3. I get the 001 error.

My friend burnt the game and used it on his wii, it worked fine. The only difference is that he doesnt have a wiikey he has another chip. All my other games still work, so i dont think its bricked.

I have a wiikey and have never updated it. I guess my question is if I update to 1.9s, will this fix the problem?
Or do I have to use the PPF patch?

Any alternatives or suggestions?

Cheers

Well mine is PAL Wiikey and mario kart works, Mine is up to date but I get the 001 error but when i get it I reset and it works fine, it seems to be a random occurence that happens even with originals. Try the game three more times and if not working update your wiikey.

Since I updated via the net, the game never even offered an update. My wiikey is 1.9s. I don't get it!!. I'm using the same disks I have been using for a year now,(HP -R Lightscribes), and the only other game that posed a problem was SSBB. But, everyone had a problem with that. It doesn't seem like any one has a clue what to do. Other than try different versions of the dump. All my stuff is NTSC(U) by the way.

I had Japanese Wii version 3.2J with D2CKey.
When I try the copied game Mario Kart Wii (JAP), it still asks me to update.
Should I proceed? Can it work? Will it brick my Wii?
