Hi,
Can someone please tell me how I can get my back up of The Golden Compass, working on my PAL version 3.2 Wii console? (D2CKEY)

I get the error that it can not read the disk however it reads on my friends console. It is a PAL disk. I am assuming it can be played on my console.

Thanks.

It might just be a media problem. There can be inconsistency from one drive to another when reading some backups even when all conditions seem equal. Also some modchips perform better than others when it comes to to reading different types of media.

Verbatim DVD-R @4x using imgburn.

I think I may have answered my own problem.
I reset my screen settings to 50Hz (default) and ran the game again. It works fine!
Am I correct in saying that all backup games will run in 50Hz so it is best to leave it on this setting? The screen display on my TV has minimal difference when in 50Hz or higher so I guess I am not losing out by keeping it at 50Hz?

It can make a difference when trying to run NTSC games, some won't run at 50Hz.

Is there an easy way to find out which setting a game should be run on?

Also, where can I find a constantly updated compatibility list?

Ta.

No - if it doesn't work as is then you try changing it. Trial and Error.
