Hi!

Need some help. downloaded evox-m7 to install on a blank chip. There's two files in the rar file. One called evoxm7.bin and one called evoxm7_ef.bin.
Which one shall I use?
Couldn't find anywhere how to make a boot cd with these files. Found a lot of others though. Do they work the same way?:

1. dummyfile bout 200 mb
2. + evox.bin
3. Create ISO image
4. Burn ISO with Nero on a CDRW?

Please tell me, I'm tired of people that give halfanswers to me while I'm stuck with a boring box :)

Thanks

William

K is your chip blank? or does it have linux cromwell on it? And is it already installed on your xbox? If it is installed on your xbox and cromwell is on it, then it will ask you for a bios update cd when it boots up.

To make the boot cd: you will need two files the evoxm7.bin and the evox.ini files. First rename your evoxm7.bin to bios.bin, Then you need your dummy file. When you burn the cd with Nero, make sure that joliet is unchecked, click the buttons that say allow more than 255 char. per path, and allow more than 8 subfolders. Make sure the cd speed is the slowest possible and that it is set to disk at once, and finalize CD.

The .bin and .ini files go in the root directory. (which means that they do not go in a any folders when you burn them on the disk.) You will make one folder however. I clicked create a new folder and it is named NEW by default. You dont have to rename it to anything. Put your dummy file in this folder.

So you should have:
bios.bin (file)
evox.ini (file)
New (folder with 100-200 megs of dummy files)

Then click burn and you have your bios boot disk. If it doesnt work, then try different brands of CDs.

can't tell if the chip is blank. The focus chip gives a blank screen. The light turns orange, then green and the trey opens though.

K you may be getting a blank screen because of the video cable you are using, try using the RCA cables that came wiht the Xbox.
You should be able to burn the cd as I stated above.

It doesn't matter what cable. That videocard won't give anything. Read it on the teamxecuter webpage. But do yo reckon that I have cromwell inside the chip?

William

ps. Thx for helping me :)

cromwell will open the tray to look for a new bios, so i would say that it is probably installed on the chip...

give it a go....

Is it a special evox.ini file I need?
Do I need the default.xbe and all those files or is
bios.bin, evox.ini and the dummyfolder sufficient?
