Hey,

This is my first post so bear with me. I used the Wii Serial Tracker and it says that I most likely have a D2B chipset with the drive pins cut. Do you know which modchip would be the best? I wanted the WiiKey. But I asked some friends and they said that the WiiKey does not have anymore support so I shouldn't get it. Also, they said there is some problem with the power regulation with the WiiKey, which may burn my Wii. What do you guys think?? Any help?? What modchip are people using these days??

Hey - if your friends filled you in about wiikey then didn't they tell you what chips are best as well?

This is the second time today I've read about someone "hearing" about a problem with the power regulation as well. Maybe there is a problem but I can't find anything about it anywhere and google is usually pretty good at throwing up discussion on something that is a widespread issue so perhaps draw your own conclusions. However, if your friends know something we don't then ask 'em for sources and links cos as a wiikey owner I'd be grateful for any info.

Anyway - you can do a forum search on - best modchip wii but if you want the best chip for D2B it's Infectus 2 or Argon and I'd get one of those rather than a wiikey anyway if I were you.

Thanks for your help. Why do you think those two are better than WiiKey?? Is there any info that can help me? I thought WiiKey was the best up until I heard about the power problem and until Infectus and Argon.

The 2 I gave you are genuinely future proof and the latest generation of modchip with the capability to be totally reporogrammed from the ground up. Infectus 2 is multi-platform as well.

Also forget about that power regulation thing - it's NOT a general issue or we'd have heard about it well before now.
