If you have ubuntu installed on your PS3 you can now upgrade to *.04 beta. To do this load up ubuntu. Press Alt-F2 and type update-manager --devel-release . Click check once the update box comes up. You will then be prompted to install the new build. The only way I know to get 8.04 is by this method here. I haven't seen a beta ISO for the ppc architecture.

Update: I just tried to reboot and now the kernal is broke the whole system hangs on startup. I'm going to have to reinstall. DON'T UPGRADE YET!!!

theres no need to reinstall zero, just type "old" at the kboot and it will boot with your previous working kernel, if old doesn't work type "linux"

I actually went to YDL 6.0. I still think Ubuntu is easier to use and plan on switching back once the bugs are worked out.
