'puter newbie needs help!
Every time I go into windows explorer and look in any VIDEO_TS folder I notice that all .VOB files are now named "Nero Showtime" files. This doesn't effect the burns or anything else, it all works normally. These are the files I've created with Shrink or Decrypter or any other program I might be creating video files with. I've attempted to remove Nero Showtime fom my computer by deleting, but have failed to stop this file re-naming. Should I just ignore it or is there something I can do to get my VOBs back?
I also noticed that any .IFO file I look at in explorer has the DVD Shrink "scroll" icon. If I click on the file the Shrink warning notice appears.
Anyone else notice this?

Yes it normally occurs if you double click a file in windows and try and open it up with a another program.....
Like with Powerdvd, if you double click on a VOB (in windows) and open it up with powerdvd....then ALL your vobs from then on will have a powerdvd icon with them.....
As Malum stated....does not cause problems....
Actually does anyone know how to remove this association?...probably simple but I do not know...
Open a folder
click 'tools' on the toolbar
then folder options
then file types and select the one you want to change
If you just want to open a file with something else the once, select it then hold down shift and right click it, this will reveal 'open with' on the right click menu and you can choose what you want. (you can also change it permenantly from there)
It can be easier if you're willing to find the necessary .VOB association entries in the Registry and export them as .REG files. Of course, you have to keep them updated when the applications change directory names, etc. But, I keep some .REG files on hand for apps that like to notoriously change my associations without asking: for files like .MP3, .AVI, .MPG, etc.
