I have a 3.80 m33 version PSP. i inserted one of my 1 gb memor stick and a piece of it broke off. So i tried to get the loose piece that was stuck in the memory slot of the psp. Eventually i got the piece out but now my psp is acting weird. Without a memory stick in , the psp boots up fine, even boots to the recovery menu. But if i try to insert a memory card in the psp , it shuts off. Also if i tried to turn on the psp with a memory stick in, it wont boot up , not even the recovery menu comes up.

what should i do
any questions, post them

I suggest you take it to gamestop or eb games and ask. Thats some hardware problems right there. You can always beat around the bush, and just get a hdd battery..instead of using ms.

Is it a phat or slim. If it's a phat parts are readily available here . If you used a metal something to get the piece out while the battery was still inserted, you might have worsened it. First replace the link I gave you.

The battery on the motherboard don't last much more than a half hour, that's why when replacing the psp's battery, after a while you have to re-enter the date. Then you can start working on the PSP.

seems like the psp is not shutting off any more. But now the problem is , is that the card reader is not reading my memory sticks. Ive heard that its either the card reader in the psp has gone bad, or the memory stick is corrupted?

Any help?

** i have tried other memory cards and no luck.
