So I picked up a slim at the store today, and I'm all ready to try a pandora mod on it. I took a look at sicdude's downgrade guide above, but found his description of the downgrade process a little vague.

For instance, what are the "C+D Team tools?" I used a program called "Pandora's Battery GUI" to make the magic memory stick for my fat PSP. Will this work for the slim as well?

Also, he talks about a pandora_slim and pandora_slim% directory, Should I be downloading these somewhere?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to start this process.

Check out that guide, see if that isn't a bit better. Just download the file in the guide to make a MMS. Pop it in with a pandora battery and follow the guide (there's also directions on the screen for each step).

I actually found this while I was waiting. It looks like it's been used a couple times successfully, so I'm gonna give it a shot.

Is it true that slims can't run 1.50 official firmware? I thought I read that somewhere.

Alright...sounds a bit sketchier if there's no screen to go by, the one I posted has a menu to go by. Either way good luck, as long as you follow the directions I'm sure it'll work fine.

That is true...slim's cannot run the 1.50 firmware. You can run the 1.50 kernal (which eneables you to use homebrew designed for the fat PSP) on a slim though, but you will need to use the Time Machine made by DaX.

Hope that helps,

well, I put the pandora battery in, and tried to start the m33 install, but the light only flickers for a second then the PSP shuts down. I don't know if this is because I've got the wrong software on the memory stick or if the battery's not charged enough, but I think I'm gonna give the method you suggested a try, Nser. Being able to see what's going on would be very helpful in this situation :P

Argh! So the downgrade worked fine, and not 5 minutes after booting it up, I find out that my LCD's broken. Well, back to the drawing board

yeah, just picked it up today... well, yesterday now, it's after midnight. I already switched it back to Sony official FW and I'm gonna go exchange it tomorrow. Too bad though, I wanted to play more Crisis Core on it tonight.
