Also I noticed that the code seemed to be correct when I went to edit it manually. It has updated but the picture still showed the 'updating code' message. I am reluctant to do a factory reset now as I spent an hour sorting the channels and it would break my heart to go through that again.

and what is the difference between a Null modem cable and a RS232?

Ive just found this Null Modem Serial Cable DB9F to DB9F RS232 Cross Wired would this be the correct one?

Would I need to purchase a USB to RS232 Serial 9Pin Cable Adapter as I have no port to plug the cable into, although I do have a 25 pin printer port on back of pc.

to those that have the 8% problem try using the older weak signal kuro release and turn on the signal booster somehow this brings back the signal but once you turn the box off it goes again maybe the programmers can look at developing that to fix all the boxes that are having this problem.

This has been my dealings with the new firmware so far. 4 blue boxes and 7 max v boxes flashed and all working fine. I noticed after immediately flashing the boxes and going to the power install menu ( i declined the fast install menu) that my signal strength was sitting at 8% I however just entered the relevent simbiotic rate and all the channels were scanned fine. On going back to the install menu my signal strength was sitting at 80%, weird huh. Anyway all boxes autoupdate fine 3 days on.

I am also experiencing this problem and I have tried the older Kuro and turned on the signal booster but its not working for me :( I have tried all other firmware releases but none are working, is my box shagged or can it be fixed?
