i bought it from e bay and i was advertised as being for firmware download specifically for e**vox i will gt another cable and try that

DB9 Female DB9F 9pin RS232 Serial Null Modem 2m Cable this is the one i bought. i will go to maplins and get the usb one so i can use the lap top instead

can you try it on a mates pc first,the reason i ask is its always easier to download new firmware with the stand alone null modem, most of the time you just connect to pc and box and it works straight away,a lot of people have problems with the usb adapter thats why its unusual for you to be having difficulties,so if you can save yourself a few bob try.Also i once had to hold the null modem on the box for the whole download as the serial port on the box was a bit dodgy,so if you want to try and give it another go today,also maybe someone will spot something i didn't,are you sure your box is not a clone?

i ahve checked the box against the pictures in the library ive got the green blobs on the left the only different thing i can see is the square thing at the top on mine is black not silver

no your grand,no it dosn't because your using the serial port,and also in regards to your earlier question you do not need to turn off your firewall have a look in here http://www.freewebs.com/euroclone/

yes its definately a blue box not a clone, i just thought the cable might be rubbish as i got it from e bay lol mmm it might be difficulkt to try on another pc ive got 2 laptops and neither have the 9pin port grrrr

try deleting the firmware/loader that you have,download it again and give that a go

sue have you followed the guide in the eurovox help under my pic?have a look a gain you may have missed something,also make sure the box is in standby when you are flashing.

right ive deleted the other download and cliked on the link on your help thingy. i couldnt get it to download where the blue box link was ive had to get it from the 8%thingy. what is that? im going to have another go so cross everything for me please lol

give the bad flash method a whirl,plug out the box, hit download and plug it back in immediately.
