OK, hello everyone. Lately i have been trying to get ff7: crisis core onto my psp via iso. When ive been trying to get it i end up with a rar file and within it is psp_game and umd_data.bin, typically i understand you know these files.
This is the rar file :
I didnt expect this, instead i expected the files to look like my other cso files which look like this
So could anyone help me into what i should do to get this rar file to work in my psp?
You will need to rebuild the files into an iso. This can be done using UMDGEN, which you can download HERE. I have never had to do this, so cant really guide you, but is you search this site im sure you will find instructions.
Ah but thats the whole point. I have already used the umd gen with the psp_game and umd_data.bin but when i do save as and then save the file type as an iso image, it turned into that rar file in the first image above.

Ah rite, sorry, i misunderstood.
ok, so im guessing that you have downloaded thi game. When you downloaded it did it come in a rar file? what files/folders were in the rar when you first downloaded it? if it wasnt a .rar to begin with, what files were in the download?
Ok i downloaded it in two parts. I thewn extracted one part which supposedly extracts both files into one file. Thats what happened. I opened the file and within it was the psp_game file and the umddata.bin
I didnt know what to do so i check around this website and i downloaded the umd gen. I was a bit confused here so i read a tut and it said to place the psp_game and bin into the gen. SO i extracted the files from the rar file and placed it into the gen. After that i clicked save as, i then name the file and saved it as an iso image, i also had a choice of saing it as a CiSO image or a Dax image. I selected the iso one. It then created the rar file as seen in the image in my first post.
i had the same problem. its winrars fault because winrar intergrates isdo as a unzippable file. so rename it as a cso not iso or turn off iso file intergration in winrars settings
hope this helped ;)
oh man thanks. All i did was just right click the rar and put .cso instead of iso, then it did that message that it may become un usable and i clciekdok. ad it was fixed. WOW thanks psplvnub
it was fine to leave it how you had it. it was an iso file, you just have winrar set as your default program for iso's. Next time just take your iso with the winrar icon and put it in your iso folder.
