Sony Electronics has announced another two Blu-ray Disc recorders for the Japanese market. The electronics giant will offer two new models with 320GB and 500GB hard disk drives in the territory to add to its existing line-up of Blu-ray equipment. The BDZ-A70 and BDZ-T90 read and write both blank Blu-ray and blank DVD media. The BDZ-A70 comes with a 320GB HDD while the BDZ-T90 has a larger 500GB HDD.

don't know why we register surprise at this - it always starts out like this - only those for whom money means nothing will buy it - the rest of us will wait until the price comes down to $ 500 or less in about 8-12 months time with a machine that is ten times as good and ten times cheaper. wasn't it the same with dvd players and recorders and doesn't it still continue to be the trend with PCs ?
A year ago, PCs with the E6600 quad core processor were retailing for around $ 5,000 in the UK and I bought mine for $ 1000 about 6 months later.
Hey is this a Blue-Ray stand alone recorder that you use for time shiftingHD or SD tv shows (like a vcr or todays dvd recorders) or is it Blur-Ray recorder for computers only?
