First, you'll need another PSP with a custom firmware if you wish to softmod the battery
Note that "PSP slim batteries" should not be used to make a pandora battery :) You'll have to then download OSPBT :)
You can download it from HERE
Then first of all when you start the application, make a backup of your battery eeprom [It'll make a file "eeprom.bin" at the ROOT of your memory stick. Do not delete this file]
Then only you should convert your PSP battery to a pandora battery :)
Then after you've done everything you want to do with the battery, power on your PSP with the AC adapter (w/o the battery inserted) and then when the PSP starts, insert the battery and then start the OSPBT application and then restore the "eeprom" of your battery :)
There will be a "Write error at 0x14" but that is common :)

quite hard to get cause i have had alook. only found slim ones tho. it wont be to hard anyway. am an electronics engineer anyway so have got stuff to do it.
Then it would be easy for you to hardmod your PSP battery :)
Even I wanna become an electronics engineer :)
btw once you hardmod your PSP battery, you cannot bring it back to a normal battery :)
And Koool 8)
Even I bricked my PSP by messing up with the "flash 0" files :P
