dont really know how that info would be hard to find as there are about 100 threads discussing everything you asked. but basically it depends on if you get a benq or a hitachi 79. if its a benq its easy to flash, if its a hitachi 79, its a pain the a$$.

Hitachi 79, you can't mod without changing the chip. you should just return it and get another one.

Bought an arcade today with HDMI and got Benq.
Apparently benq are more common now with the new builds and the elites.

I was ordering it online, so the arcade versions also have HDMI on them? Do tehy also have the new chip that runs a lot cooler?

they should.
If you are looking for a Falcon BenQ specifically, which it appears you are, you'd be best served physically going to a store and not buying online

Take a list with you and try to find a Benq.
I used this list to buy mine xbox so i can mod it about 2 years ago. It's very important.

Ehhh... I'd only do that as a last resort. Walking in to a store, you can check the mfr. date and get the newest one possible. Plus I'd look for the new 175 watt'ers. Never know what you're getting on line.
