No SATA ports

Ok so I was ready to flash my xbox 360 and then I opened up my computer and there were no SATA ports...
I have looked in the threads that talk about buying SATA cards and controllers. So if you don't have any ports, can you can install one of these and it solves the problem, or whars the deal?
So if I am screwed and there is no way to add the SATA ports, what are my other options? If I buy a modchip off the internet will I still need to hook it up to my computer? Any suggestions are welcome...

yea, just buy the sata card you need to flash your 360 and install it into a PCI slot. you will need a via 6421 chipset for samsungs and benq, and a different chipset for hitachi drives. not sure which it is as my onboard sata will work for hitachis, but you can google it and fine it easy enough.

thanks for the quick response, yeh i have a hitachi drive, the reason I asked if i could install a SATA drive was because all the computer stores in my city said it was not possible, but then i saw ppl talking about it.
Second question is: does it matter which type of hitachi drive you have for which sata port you should buy, should I open my 360 first?

you can flash a hitachi drive if you have a via vt6421 sata card.
i have flased a few with it.

Well, you want to make sure it's not a raid-only card. Meaning raid can be disabled.

RAID - Random Array of Independent Drives
Most sata raid cards can have the raid disabled and the rest are raid only. You just want to make sure the one you pick can be disabled.

ya, i also have a hitachi (78 to be more specific) and i just bought one simialir to this here
its a 6421a non raid. so i would go with one similair to mine.
As for a question, i was wondering, i know i have to hook up my xbox with the sata cord that some with. but then i plug in the other end to the pci card,right? just one question how am i conncting the pci sata card to my comp.?

uhh...you put the PCI card into a PCI slot in your computer....

The card plugs into an open pci slot on your motherboard. You'll see when you get it.

yeh, they don't list any sata cards for a hitachi drive though
Am I going to have to open my xbox up before I decide which sata chip or is there a universal sata chip for all hitachi drives?
If it helps my manufacture date was March 2006

For a hitchi drive I bought the executor conectivity kit and did it all via the USB ports using the wee gadgets that came with the kit and didnt need to worry about sata ports in the PC as the kit has everything as long as your PC has USB
