OK, so i recently bought an Xbox 360 from a friend, from which i was told that the Xbox was modded by some friend of a friend of his (he mentioned this to me days after i bought the xbox). He then told me that there was no mod chip installed, so the only possible method was that the firmware was flashed (in some fashion or another). He also mentioned that he didn't get a disk from the guy who did it for him and that the guy showed his friend (who took the system to the guy to get it modded) how to bring it's original firmware back (which didn't require any disk , or so he said), but the method wasn't shown to him. Now the guy who did the mod, isn't in town anymore, and i can't get any concrete information. So is there a method to bringing the system back from it's original firmware that doesn't require a disk, or am i up a creek without a paddle? Also, this seems to me like it's a softmod, since all you really are able to do is play backups. Anyway, if someone can point me to the right direction on this, I'd really appreciate it.
nope, youre SOL. without the orig.bin you cant restore it to normal. i dont know why you would want to anyways. its been flashed so you might as well keep it that way, your just as likely to get banned on live if you keep it flashed or somehow get it flashed back to original state. and it is a softmod, as this is the only thing that can be done with 360s right now. there are no hard mods out at all.
