I seem to be able to save a game but when i try to load its corrupt. Happens with both umds and isos and with all my memory sticks. Is it possible that formatting the flash 1 will fix it?

There must be a problem with your 'memory stick' itself >_<
May be MagicGate isn't supported in all your memory sticks :)
To check whether MagicGate is supported, go to the videos option of your PSP and then press "Triangle" button on your PSP and choose "Information" and see if MagicGate is supported :)
