I am having problems consistantly burning good backups. Using: verbatim dvd+r dl disks, xdvdmulleter beta 10 to check, and clonecd to burn. My first 2 I wrecked 1 disk each time, after that it took 3 disks to get it right, and now I have made 4 coasters on my most recent with no success. I am aiming for a higher rate of success, but I dont know where to look. Some people say they have burned up to 18 in a row with 100% success! Right now my % is less than 30. Each time I go to burn I make sure Mulleter says its good, but this doesnt seem to help. Just looking for any tips that anyone has to help.

have you tried CRC checking, and checking for crosslinkable files? Also, perhaps autofix will help too

Lol, every game came back with "invalid checksum perhaps a bad rip?". 1 as unrecognized, and another with bad stealth files. I have alot more searching and reading to do. Thanks for the push in the right direction, These seem to be good articles and sites I am going to search for answers at: ABGX.net, "http://xbox360torrents.blogspot.com/2007/12/360-game-checker-to-avoid-being-band.html"
Any other places you could recommend?

Basically, here's what's up. If you're downloading games, which I assume you are given the URL you provided, then you're bound to run into such problems. If I were you, I would just buy a kreon drive and make your own copies, that way you don't have to worry about stuff like that. Also, I would still recommend trying the autofix tool in mulleter. That should fix most problems. However, after using autofix, I always recheck everything just in case. No sense in wasting more verbs

I just finished my 5th burn after using autofix no luck. I think I am going to give up if my luck doesnt change after I use the 10 disks I have left, it is too inconsistant. I will take your advice and buy a Kreon drive, Thanks

Sorry about that m8. I'm sure the Kreon drive will work much better for you though.

Does anyone know how to fix a bad image file, or how to increase the probability of a good burn? If I check the image for bad stealth files, crosslinked files and it comes back bad, what do I do then? Sometimes the image doesnt burn the first time, but it works the second time after I changed nothing, why?
I know that alot of people use BT's so they must be working files, so why am I having so much trouble. Are there better programs than mulleter? I am willing to do the work I just need some direction where to look.

If it's taking you a few burns of the same rip to get a good working copy, then it's not the rip. A rip is either good or bad... it doesn't change depending on how many times you try to burn it. It sounds more like a bad burn. And you haven't given us any burning info other than you using Verbs.
Also, are those true Verbs... or eBay Verbs? A lot of big media sellers on eBay will advertise Verbs but you'll end up with CMC crap.

did u try ImgBurn instead of cloneCD?
i tried clonecd twice for my first backup and it didnt work - i immediately tried ImgBurn and to this day i get about a 95% success ratio ...
could have been a coincidence but after i wasted 2 verbs - i only had one left so i tried ImgBurn which went flawlessly and i never went back ...
btw a few things ive learned in the past year that ive been burning group rips (too lazy to by a kreon and rip my own):
1. verbs made in singapore have a higher success rate ...
2. if u do try ImgBurn, make sure the layer break is set to 1913760 and make sure ur book type is set to DVD-ROM - otherwise these rips will not work at all ...
3. make sure the rips u download actually work - if ur downloading from a forum - check the replies (or post a reply askin) if the rip is legit or if it works ...
if u make the switch to ImgBurn, the layer break setting is in Tools>Settings>Write(tab)>Sectors in L0
for the book type: click the book icon on the bottom right corner of the ImgBurn program and select ur drive, click the "Change for" drop down menu and select DL media, then select "DVD-Rom" from the New Setting drop down menu ... click the "Change" button ... click OK on the popup window then Ok on the book type menu - burn the game ...
if u got a group rip then u should get a successful burn ...

They are the real verbs, 20 pack from Best Buy, with purple and yellow package. For burning I use XDVDMulleter Beta 10, Clonecd v5.2.9.1, DVD±RW (±R DL)/DVD-RAM -IDE drive. I burn at the 2-2.4 speed setting. I think thats it.

u dont know if there from india or singapor. The true verbs are from singapor, thats pure.
The india ones a little crappy.
u shouldnt get ripped off on ebay, u can get a good deal. I got 25 singapore verbs for 30 dollars.

Clone CD works great if it's legit (paid for). I bought Clone CD, Clone DVD, and Anydvd, and they paid for themselves quite quickly.
There's a lot of hacked and cracked copies of those programs on the web which don't work worth a crap... and a lot are just viruses. Ya just got to be careful.

FYI anytime I post on this site I assume alot of people will be reading it, so I try to find the answer and make sure that anyone reading it will see that I have found a solution. Its just my roundabout way of contributing. I wish I could help everyone but I find that finishing my own thread is more helpful than answering others questions. Am I right?
PS I am now at a 90% success
