Hey guys,

I recently bought a VGA HD TV cable and a Toslink digital audio optical cable to plug my Xbox360 to my PC monitor / audio system. I been able to get video out of it but I have no sound. I was wondering if you guys ever used optical cables.

This is the audio cable I bought on ebay - Item ID 380012682898

From what I saw, there is no other option than using an optical audio cable. I just wanted feedbacks from people that are actually using an optical audio cable and maybe know why I can't get any sound out of my xbox

so that speaker set only has an optical input? No other type like a headphone jack or RCA cables?

If it does you can just get an RCA to mini-jack adapter and pug the sound in that way.

it does have a headphone input but that will cut the sound quality. Maybe I'm just unlucky and got a broken cable

sorry, never used the optical cable because all of my stuff runs through my stereo receiver which will output in full surround. Plus now that i bought turtle beach headphones i get great stereo sound but they cover your ears completely so you won't hear anything but the game and the people in the game with you.

I have an opticle cable at home still in the pack i think, i am just too lazy to try figuring it out.

You could alwasy get a differet speaker set up better made for what you need like the type from Logitech (X-530)

you can use that to hook up a 360. Now it is analog sound but i have that set on my PC and i can tell you they sound pretty darn good for a small price.
