im confused also. just a quick update. got my card today, so ill give my hitachi 78 a try, using textbooks guide.
EDIT : okay just put slax on cd. just as penny said keep ya guys posted.

okay i just flashed my hitachi 78. Um..with following textbooks guide.
I rate it a 3 or maybe 2.5
Also i have one quick question, wouldn't it be better if i kept my faceplate and 360 case off. I mean wouldn't it reduce heat?
o and also i did the Ixetreme with the 5x speed. I figured it was a good call. Was it?

as for leaving the case off, i think your going to get mixed answers on this, bc i think the case was 'designed' to improve airflow, and if you have the case off, it will interrupt this flow. others might disagree and say it will increase airflow. as for the 5x, i would have personally went with at least 8x, but if it plays fine for you, then keep it i guess.

yep use iprep and type Rsam 1234567 12345-Whatever ur Serial is
then use iprep again with 1.4 ixtreme 8x or 12x
and just type Dsam 1234567 12345 -whatever ur serial is

okay when trying to reflash, i cant get into mode b. Im doing the same steps, it just wont work. BTW i have an hitachi 78. So im clueless on how to reflash my drive. if anybody knows a good tutorial on this send one my way. There are like no guides that i have looked through that describe how to do this, and not many posts here on AD about this.

ha, no i got a hitachi. I already have slax. REMEMBER i have already flashed my drive, did it last night. But i put the speed at 5. And i want to go up. so i have to restore my originol fw. then create a new hacked fw. Oh, and that link wont work with the 78...so once again, so i assume i put my thing into drive b. And then work from there right? I think i now what im doing.
Its just not going into mode b anymore.

which program would be best to burn the xbox 360 games, i used imgburn for burning my xbox1 games and it seemed to work ok...

imageburn and clonecd are the best ones, i use image burn as its easier to use, less clicks of the mouse.

my PCI sata controller is stuck in RAID... i have downloaded the latest drivers, will this be ok for flashing my xbox, or do i need to get it out of RAID

penner the link is good. If your stuck in raid, you can restart your computer and you will see a hot key for raid. Just like you have a hot key to get into your bios. The hot key, i think for my computer was like F4, will show up just like it says press a certain key for boot options.

k i tried the raid hot key and went into my bios and still nothing
Will the card still recognise my xbox if it is in raid mode?
and can you give me a list of the programs i need for the preperation and flashing for the samsung ms28 drive
